Trying to get through the locker room door the same time as Avery was a scene as they nudged each other‘s shoulders to get though first. They finally busted through at the same time as Cristina snarled at him before ending up at her cubbie. The whole time she thought about that muffin when she was changing and cursing Owen for not waking her up early enough to get to work, despite the fact that he did, but Cristina always shrugged him off.
She kept looking behind her waiting for Jackson to go take a shower so she could steal the muffin. It wasn’t like Cristina was an everyday thief, but he deserved it after taunting her with it and shoving it in her face. Just as she saw that he was leaving, she turned around still sitting on the bench eyeing his cubbie. Making sure that the coast was clear, her eyes darted around the room. No one. Now, she could go on with her plot of stealing the muffin and no one would know.
Alex Karev had entered the room just as Cristina’s hand touched the crumpled up plastic wrap that encased the quarter eaten muffin.
“What the hell are you doing??” Karev had put his things down as he saw Cristina go into Avery’s cubbie.
“Shut up and mind your business.” Cristina snagged the muffin, but Karev reached over and took it from her.
“Don’t steal his muffin.” Karev got into Cristina’s face, but Cristina determined to get what should have been hers glared back at him.
“Look, that is the last cranberry muffin in this building and it’s mine. So get your grubby hands off of it.”
She snatched it back from him.
“Seriously??? “ He snatched it back. “I wanted one of these today. Thanks, Yang.” He grinned at her and put it in his cubby.
“You give me that muffin and I’ll let you take my place on Altman’s mitral valve replacement.” She tried bargaining with him, but he wouldn’t change his mind. Instead, he took the muffin, unwrapped it and took a bite from it in front of her.
“I hate you.” She glared at him, snarled and left the locker room.
Alex had left it sitting on the bench as he finished dressing. But just as he was putting on his lab coat, he got paged for the Pit. His things beside him, including the muffin that was not so important now, got shoved into his cubbie as he bolted out of the locker rooms.
