"Are you guys sure we should be driving? I mean we are all a little bit trashed." Asphodel said as she tried to cover a laugh that passed her red painted lips. It was probably the smartest comment that she had made during their night of drinking liquor with some high school friends. They were on summer break and the air was warm and sticky so they decided to go to a party that was happening across town. Asphodel had snuck out once more while her father was working at some hospital in a different city that was under staffed and needed an extra hand. So she got all cute in her black gothic skirt, white top and little black vest. Her boots clicked against the pavement as her and 5 of her friends walked to the small car that was only supposed to fit 3 but they managed even if it was a bit snug. They had decided that out of the group Asphodel was the least trashed of them all even though she didn't have a license and she was the youngest.
They all climbed into the car and Asphodel wound up being the only one to put on her seat belt. They were driving down the high way with the music really loud and everyone singing along even louder which was messing with Ash's hearing aids. Her vision was getting more and more blurry as she gave into the peer pressure in the car and took a couple more swigs of the large bottle of vodka that was being passed around. "Hey Em take the wheal for a second." Ash muttered as she un clipped her seat belt to lean over and pull her phone out of her bag. She didn't bother to re-clip because it didn't really cross her mind. She looked up in enough time to see the bright lights and screeching tires of the speeding truck that had run the red light at the intersection. Asphodel hardly had time to react as they were hit in the passengers side. The small car was sent rolling 4 times and stopping on its hood. Asphodel was no longer in the car but a few inches away from it in a bloody heap on the wet concrete as the rain started to beat down harder.
The 2 other girls that were crammed into the car had been thrown to but weren't lucky enough to live threw it. Asphodel started to fade in and out of consciousness as she tried to check her self. She could see people running up to the car and up to her but her hearing aids weren't in so she couldn't hear anything except the dull high pitch squeal of a siren. Within minutes of the accident she was loaded up onto a gurney as yellow sheets were being placed over her friends. There were 5 people in the car but only 2 were going to the hospital and only one would actually make it there. They tried to control the bleeding around the large piece of metal that had impaled its self into her side and as a result was causing her to cough up massive amounts of blood from internal bleeding as it leaked out the side of her mouth and down her face from the large gash on her forehead. She had a compound fracture to the left leg and a severely broken left arm. The neck brace held her neck in place for the unwanted, but soon to be, fear of a sprained or broken neck. Several broke ribs aided in the puncturing of her right lung and the metal pierced her liver nicely. She smelled of large amounts of alcohol since it had spilled on her in the crash and since she was drinking a lot of it. The doors to the pit burst open as they tried to make it so the death toll didn't rise to all 5 teenagers in the car not making it. On top of everything else, her blood sugar was starting to go a bit wacky. Diabetes a liquor were never a good mix.
