Dr Calliope Torres, the Attending Orthopaedic surgeon at Seattle Grace Mercy West hospital, was standing at the nurses station in the second floor lobby. She was flipping through a chart as she looked up to the wall clock above her. 3pm. She thought about running to the coffee cart to get a muffin before her surgery at half past, but she was yet to find an intern who wanted in on her latest case. She drew in a deep breath and looked back to the chart.
She pulled her long brown curls back into a quick bun, biting her lip and clicking her pen off, putting it back into her white coat pocket. She closed her eyelids over the hazel irises inside for a moment, taking time to herself to decide what she needed to do first... eat... help prep her patient... or find an intern to assist and do her post-ops. She sighed, before closing over the chart and looking around, deciding she would ask the next intern she saw... if she thought they were a good enough surgeon of course... She pulled her blue scrub top down a little as she looked around.

Standing up from a short late lunch break Rebeca threw out the little remains of what she didn't eat. She left the cafeteria and went out to the stairs. Opening the door and letting it slam shut behind her she walked up the stair's. She was going to her favorite floor, the second floor. Since she had finished the case she had been assigned to. she was going to go looking to see if she could find a new one. She opened the door to the floor and slip out. She made her way through some other members on the staff. Arriving at the nurses station she checked the clock, It was three.
Rebeca look around, everyone seemed normal. Like that word made any sense. Nothing was normal about this place. But I didn't know much just what she could In Med School. She just knew that she was an intern. Rebeca just go with the flow, telling her self. She looked up and checked around. So she took a few steppes passing Dr. Torres, looking over she was looking at a chart.

Calliope flipped the chart closed, slipping it under her arm, as she saw an intern. She took a step over, into the intern's path. She looked at her for a moment as she approached. Callie nodded, looking to her. She double checked the time quickly, then walked to Dr. Hubbard. She smiled softly.
"Dr. Hubbard, are you on anyone's service today?"
She asked, casually but quickly, she was in a bit of a rush. She needed to get some coffee and a muffin or something before her surgery. She checked the time once more, she had twenty five minutes to do so, and check quickly that everything was in order with the patient and he was at least on his way down to the OR. She bit her lip.
"It's just, I have a patient... An ACL reconstruction... And I don't have an intern on the case, if you want in that is..."
She shrugged a little. She tucked a loose curl of her hair behind her ear. She looked around a bit. She still had about 20 minutes to get everything done.

Steeping in front of her Dr. Torres said to Rebeca"Dr. Hubbard, are you on anyone's service today?" Rebeca blinked realized the voice of Dr. Torres. "Not at this moment. Why?" Rebeca didn't want to sound rude in any way. Fixing her pony tail Callie then said "It's just, I have a patient... An ACL reconstruction... And I don't have an intern on the case, if you want in that is..." Rebeca nodded and said "Of course-" Cutting her self off she then said, "Sure, I want in."
Taking a breath Rebeca then said "What do you want me to do?" Eager to learn, or something like that. Rebeca remembered this feeling like her first day here. She wanted to get in the game, and fast. She didn't have much of a social life t0 get in the way of being a surgeon.

Calliope smiled softly as Rebeca said she wanted in on the case. She nodded and handed her the chart from under her arm. She smiled softly.
"The surgery is at half past. Quickly read up on these notes and check up on the patient, make sure he's down in the OR, prepped and ready for surgery. Be down there on time. Get something to eat as well before hand if you haven't already eaten."
She said softly. It came out quite harsh and bossy, but that's not how Callie meant it. She was still stressing after the shooting, although it had been a few weeks... Callie had came face to face with the shooter, trying to get him to leave. She was back with Arizona now, but Callie's thoughts were elsewhere a lot of the time, which meant she was in a rush. She smiled softly.
"I'll see you at the OR. I'm off to eat then check up on Mr. MacDonald."
She said, tucking the loose hair back once more, before grabbing another chart and heading off. She drew in a deep breath as she turned the corner, bumping into Altman, she smiled softly and apologised before rushing to the coffee cart.

Grabbing the chart Rebeca nodded as Callie told her what to do. After Callie had left, Rebeca went off down to the OR. walking away from the nurses station she was going to take the stairs to the first floor. Once she got there she checked her watch, she had a few minutes. Taking a seat on the stairs she sat down and started looking through some note's and the charts.
Checking her watch once again she stood up and started to walk to the first floor. She opened the door letting it slam behind her. Heading to the OR. Going to wash her hands she looked up. There was the patient, he seemed ready and prepared for the surgery. Looking at one of the nurses she asked "Is he ready?" She nodded then replied "He is ready." She checked her watch once last time and went back into the scrub room and this time really got prepped. Looking over her shoulder she waited for Dr. Torres.

Calliope headed off to get a muffin and a coffee. She picked a blueberry one... She sipped her coffee and quickly ate her muffin on the elevator ride up to the OR. She drew in a deep breath as she binned the muffin case, finishing off her coffee and binning that as she entered the scrub room. She smiled softly at Rebeca.
"Did you read the notes?"
She asked, smiling softly. She tied on her scrub cap, taking her white coat off, tying on her mask, before beginning to wash her hands. She scrubbed at them for a few moments, making them lather up, before rinsing them thoroughly.

The the doors slid open Callie came in, Rebeca turned towards her as Callie asked "Did you read the notes?" Nodding Rebeca replied "Yea, I read them." Rebeca rinsed off her hands and stood back and waited for Callie before going into the OR.
Looking through the window at the patient, Rebeca smiled, an OR. I nice clean OR with a patient. She laughed under her breath, Rebeca was always excited for a surgery. well who wasn't, other then the patient of course. She looked at the patient on the table. Waiting for his surgery.

Callie smiled as she finished scubbing in, and headed into the OR. She drew in a deep breath as she stood over the patient, waiting for Rebeca to come in. She looked around at the staff and nurses around her, along with the interns there to observe, and up at everyone in the gallery.
Okay... Is everyone ready?"
She asked, just making sure. She didn't want to start and not have any of the equipment ready. She looked over to the aenesthesiologist.
"Is he fully medicated?"
She asked, everyone was tired, and no-one had gotten a break since the shooting. So she just wanted to make sure everything was in order, she felt extremely tired herself, she felt like there was no way she was going to make it through this surgery, she calculated in her head how long this surgery would take. It wasn't emergen, so she could postpone it if she wanted...

Rebeca watched as Callie when in. She stood there and took a second to think, Here is am, ready to go... She took a step then stopped she was nervous afraid to make a mistake. Taking a deep breath she walked in the door slid shut as Callie said "Okay is everyone ready?" Rebeca could do nothing else but smile and nod. "Is he fully medicated?" She took a few steps forward and one of the nurses said "Yes."
Rebeca took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a second, she had been in a few surgery's since she arrived but not many. She her self had been hold back, not any more. She was going to start trying harder. She usually did but here she was down sized, broken, and 'beaten' to be the best. She took a step forward and looked back at Callie.

Calliope took in a deep breath, looking around at the room of sleepy surgical nurses and interns. She shook her head a little.
"Okay, I think we should postpone the surgery for a few hours, allow people to get some sleep. Everyone has been working non-stop since the shooting, trying to take their minds off of it. But it's not healthy, we need to sleep, we could harm patients, and that's not why we're here. Alright? So the surgery is postponed until 6.30pm tonight."
She said softly, turning and exiting the OR, taking off her mask and gloves, washing her hands once more before exiting the scrub room.
ooc:; sorry it's short, have a bit of writers block.
